Anyone! DI welcomes UW–Madison students of all majors and experience levels - no prior design experience is required.

Members get access to members-only events such as site visits, networking, and competitions; eligibility for semester-long project cohorts; and opportunities to apply for leadership positions.

What kind of design projects do members work on?

Members work on a wide variety of projects, from design thinking exercises to systems design, UX design, and product design. While projects vary each semester, many focus on the intersection of design and technology.

What design tools does DI use?

Figma is one of our most common tools for digital design and prototyping, and we hold workshops each semester to help members build proficiency.Depending on the project, teams may also work with content management platforms such as WordPress, Wix, or Squarespace.

Join our Slack and newsletter, come to meetings and community events, or apply for general membership. Members can also apply for project cohorts when applications open each semester.We offer flexible ways to get involved, no matter your schedule or time commitment!
